My Little Pony

Image
I had the great pleasure of meeting a work colleagues' family today. Her daughter and niece came into the office, and apart from being super cute and polite, they had some awesome drawing skills. Her niece has a natural gift which she was showing in true creative flair! And I totally felt inspired! I sneakily found out that they are both fans of My Little Pony, so I thought I do a a quick drawing for them of their favourite my little pony characters :) Fluttershy Rainbow Dash Not too bad for my first my little pony drawings!  I may have to draw my favourite Spitfire now! Wooohooo!! So watch this space!

Valentines Day Commission

For this years Valentines Day I not only created Valentines Day cards, but I was also asked to create something special for one of my work colleagues. His brief was simple - 'my fiance likes cats and playing the piano' Final Piece It also got nicely framed Stages of creation: First Pencil drawing, and then outlined in black pen First stage of colouring using copic sketch markers, I decided to colour the keys in first to make sure I could get the right effect for the ivory. This was the hardest part of the piece as it took me 1 and half hours to colour all the keys in. Once I was happy with the keys and how they looked, I then finished the rest of the piece, leaving the cat til last. The cat was last to be coloured, as I was undecided about what colour to colour it, in the end I decided on white cat so it could contrast nicely with that of the black piano, but made sure to focus heavily on its green eye colour so that it was the most striking and ma

Special Birthday Gifts

These two pieces were drawn as gifts for an 70th birthday in October 2015. Brief was - He loves steam trains and Pumbaa from Disney's The Lion King, so you can guess what was created: Pumbaa Turn-around and signature pose Just a small note, this was my first time drawing a steam train, all in all it took a total of 4.5/5 hours to complete, from the first initial line drawing right through to the detailed shading of the train and its few carriages. As you can see I haven't updated in well......a weeeeeeee while, and my apologies to my loyal followers who check back now and then to see if I've actually added anything new to the mix. Let just say that's life for you, and all the responsibilities of being an adult come into play, but its no excuse, I have to try harder and I gotta keep those creative juices following! So draw, draw, draw! Create, create! I haven't drawn and created as much as I would have liked so far this year, but on most of the projects I have done, I have thoroughly enjoyed them and the results were pretty good I think! (In my humble opinion ^_^ ) There shall be a few posts, as I try to back track through time and show what I've done, so bare with me and watch this space :) Christmas Pup (2015) Alcohol based copic pens and outliner pen
