Farewell artworks

Image
Sadly over these past few months has been a time of change for me at my place of work, a fair few lovely team members are moving onto new adventures. And of course it wouldn't be right if I didn't send them off with some DA artwork. :) First we have this good luck card featuring characters from Persona 5: This particular card was very special for me as it was for a dear work colleague of mine; who I'd been working with for over 4 years! Using the awesome combination of copic sketch markers and fine liners I was able to create this Persona 5 inspired card, I even tried to capture the game's unique font and style: My other farewell artwork pieces featured Dumbo and Mickey Mouse (hand drawn).  Both were Disney favourites of two other lovely people I had the pleasure of working with: Dumbo and Fantasia Mickey.

A trip down memory lane...

In continuation from my last post, my newest piece of work involved another Disney princess - Cinderella. This particular piece was created for a very special young lady celebrating her 21st birthday which is today - 25th July 2017 (the same date as this entry post). It holds a special place in my heart, because 14 years ago I drew and created a Cinderella inspired piece for the same person. I was truly touched to know that she still holds that first drawing, and I was delighted to be able to re-create a more up to date version of Cinderella for her. 2017 Cinderella VS. 2003 Cinderella Plus getting to compare both pieces side by side, allows me to really appreciate how much I have improved and progressed - its so humbling.

Tale as old as time...

Beauty and the Beast is definitely making waves this year, with new live action film receiving rave reviews, and I had the pleasure of seeing it a few weeks ago. I must say I'm a huge Disney Classics fan - love all the animated classics!! Sooooo I was a little dubious about seeing the live action version, but I was thoroughly impressed. ^_^ I had the wonderful pleasure of finding out my dad's best friends daughter, loves beauty and the beast, and that she would be celebrating her holy communion this month, so in true style I created these two Beauty and the Beast inspired pictures for her. Beauty and the Beast (image inspired from the Disney animated classic) Chibi styled Beauty and the Beast Then to give them both that extra special touch, I decided to frame them as well:

I had the great pleasure of meeting a work colleagues' family today. Her daughter and niece came into the office, and apart from being super cute and polite, they had some awesome drawing skills. Her niece has a natural gift which she was showing in true creative flair! And I totally felt inspired! I sneakily found out that they are both fans of My Little Pony, so I thought I do a a quick drawing for them of their favourite my little pony characters :) Fluttershy Rainbow Dash Not too bad for my first my little pony drawings!  I may have to draw my favourite Spitfire now! Wooohooo!! So watch this space!
